John Anderson is a Texas trained general ophthalmologist. He performs eye surgery for many ocular ailments. Dr. Anderson moved to Houston from Roswell, NM just before starting his freshman year at St. Thomas High School. Dr. Anderson attended college at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, TX where he was a member of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He majored in Biology and graduated with the honor of Magna Cum Laude. Dr. Anderson then moved back to Houston to attend medical school and residency at The University of Texas Medical School at Houston. During Dr. Anderson’s ophthalmology residency he had the distinct opportunity to train at one of the largest Trauma Centers in the nation, The Texas Trauma Institute at Memorial Hermann Hospital. Additionally, Dr. Anderson perfected his skills of cataract surgery and other ophthalmic surgeries and procedures at Lyndon Baines Johnson Hospital and Memorial Hermann – Texas Medical Center Hospital. Dr. Anderson’s residency experiences also included training at The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston Methodist Hospital, St. Luke’s Medical Center and St. Joseph Medical Center. Dr. Anderson is married to a supportive and wonderful wife whom he met at TCU, and who is also a Houstonian. He has 3 young children: Covert, Adell and Emery and enjoys doing sporting activities with his very active family. Dr. Anderson enjoys hunting, fishing, skiing and college football. GO FROGS! Dr. Anderson is always available for his patients and extends his care and devotion to each and every patient that walks through the door.
